TransPac Aviation Academy not only offers superior initial pilot training for those beginning their career
– it also provides graduates, and those who have achieved pilot status elsewhere, unmatched career
assistance as well as professional growth within the academy. Whether you are hired at TransPac as a Certified
Flight Instructor or you come to the academy to enroll in a professional pilot program to transition you
to your career, TransPac has you covered.
Using the knowledge and guidance of our industry advisory committee, TransPac pinpoints what the airlines are looking for – and develops those skills in its CFIs and the students who come to the TransPac program from other schools.
Our goal is to create highly skilled pilots most attractive to airlines.
Training & Preparing for Your Career
Once you have completed TransPac’s or another pilot training course and are a Certified Flight Instructor, there is an opportunity for
employment at the academy. If hired, the CFI post will develop you as a pilot through on-going education and standardization, ample hours in
the air and additional skills. CFIs are also required to complete monthly tests and have a flight review every six months as part of
TransPac’s own quality control of its instruction.
Jet Transition Program
Each TransPac CFI receives the Jet Transition & Air Crew Education Program free of charge after being employed for one year with the academy. For those coming from other schools for this training, the program fees are $5,500.
The program is a jet transition course, utilizing the CRJ-200 Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD), which is a jet simulator. The course
includes 20 hours of ground school and 20 hours of CRJ-200 FTD time. It also covers aspects of FAA Par 121 flight and ground operations
along with advanced systems, EFIS/EICAS, FMS, Airline Procedures and Profiles, CRM and more. This training has been used by airlines such
as American Eagle to train their new hire pilots before they enter the actual training at the airline, to ensure the new hire pilots’
success.
Resume Writing, Interview Coaching and More
Each of our CFIs is guided in preparing a professional resume for future job applications.
TransPac offers guidelines on how to setup the resume so it has the most effective information available to airline recruiters. Our staff then reviews and critiques the CFI’s resume prior to submission to the airlines.
Once the resume is polished and the CFI is ready, TransPac’s career placement professionals will help locate job openings.
TransPac can also aid in sending out resumes to its partner airlines and others. Our staff also provides basic interview preparation. Our goal is to make sure all of the training provided and skills obtained at the academy translate into the interview experience – and landing a perfect position.
